Verifying your identity

Verifying your identity is a short identity check by us, required to unlock adding money, your card and other One features.

What you'll need

A valid, unexpired ID in good condition. One accepts:

  • Passport: front only
  • Drivers License: front and back
  • PhilSys / National ID: front and back
  • Unified Multi-Purpose ID (UMID): front and back
  • Postal ID: front only
  • Voter's ID: front only
  • Social Security ID: front only

The app shows the IDs you can choose from when you start.

Steps

  1. When your account is ready to verify, the app shows the steps to get started. Tap Start with your identity (or Continue with your identity) to begin.
  2. Upload a clear photo of your ID — no glare, and every edge visible.
  3. Complete a quick selfie check right in the app.
  4. Enter your address and other personal details as asked.

We'll notify you as soon as it's ready, so you don't need to keep the app open.

If it doesn't go through

The app shows you the exact reason and what to do next — most often it's a clearer photo, or retaking a side of your ID that came through blurry. Follow the retry prompt shown on your screen.

If we ask you to clarify or resend something

During or after verification, we sometimes ask you to clarify something or send it again — a clearer photo of your ID, the other side, a new selfie check, or a correction to a personal detail. It's a normal part of the process, not a rejection.

  • We always ask inside the app: on the Verify your identity card on your home screen (tap Finish verification), or the Complete a quick selfie check card if we need that check.
  • If a photo won't upload or the screen stops responding, close it fully along with the app, then reopen it before trying again.
  • Send your documents only inside the app. One never asks for them by chat, email, WhatsApp, SMS, Viber or phone.

Follow the prompts shown on your screen. We'll notify you once it's reviewed.

One accepts: Passport, Drivers License, PhilSys / National ID, Unified Multi-Purpose ID (UMID), Postal ID, Voter's ID, and Social Security ID.

How long does verification take?

We'll notify you as soon as it's ready, so you don't need to keep the app open.

My verification was rejected — what do I do?

The app shows the exact reason and your next step. Most often it just needs a clearer photo or a retake of one side of your ID.

Why do you need to verify my identity?

It's required by financial regulations, and it also helps stop someone else from opening an account in your name.

What do I do if One asks me to clarify or resend something?

Open the Verify your identity card on your home screen, tap Finish verification, and follow the step we ask for there — it could be a clearer photo, the other side of your ID, a new selfie check, or fixing a detail. If a photo won't upload, fully close the verification screen and the app, then reopen it before trying again.

Will One ask for my ID or selfie by WhatsApp or email?

No. Send your documents only inside the app; we'll never ask for them by chat, email, WhatsApp, SMS, Viber or phone.
